Medical Hotline & Assistance
Büddies have access to a comprehensive and high-quality assistance and advice service which is available 24 / 7 / 365. If the matter is serious we will make referrals to a network of multi disciplinary and multilingual health and wellbeing professionals and community resources. The referrals can be scheduled by the ValueBüddy Call Centre in an area most convenient to you.
You will benefit because there is an emergency telephonic advice and information that you can phone 24 hours, seven days a week. When things go wrong, we will liaise with your next of kin, to keep them apprised of the situation. If your minor is stranded because of a medical situation, we can arrange for a companion (strict terms and conditions apply).
There are certain services we can arrange on your behalf (the costs will be for your own account) – emergency medical response to the scene of an incident, emergency medical transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility and the emergency transfer of medicine and blood.
In addition to the general medical advice service, medical operators will guide a person through a medical crisis situation involving the member. Büddies will receive emergency advice or have necessary support organised, by utilising the 24-hour Contact Centre Doctor. You will use this service when poison was accidentally consumed, of someone wants to commit suicide for counselling after rape incidents and where HIV Counselling is required. Where family, domestic or child abuse takes place, or when trauma or bereavement counselling is required, this will also be the service you want to use.
* This service is only available in South Africa.
